Pakistan Society of Life Sciences (PSLS)
In the current world scenario, Life Sciences/ Biosciences, with its interdisciplinary components, requires extensive need based, applied research (R & D), using most recent and advanced, cutting edge technologies, as well as through an updated & disciplined knowledge dissemination (academia), would result in productive benefits and those in turn could be up-scaled using strong and effective industrial linkage programs. Henceforth, the biosciences products could become the sole means of socio-economic prosperity of the country.
Pakistan Society of Life Sciences (PSLS) is a perceived national consortium of learned Life Sciences (Biosciences) academia & researchers community, being a non-commercial, non-governmental body. Biosciences at large, with its interdisciplinary components, requires extensive need based, applied research (R & D), using most recent and advanced, cutting edge technologies and PSLS will be a channel for an updated & disciplined knowledge dissemination (academia), that would result in productive benefits, as professional human resource development, execution of need based scientific projects and finally resulting in useful and viable life science products. The PSLS will be further helpful in the product up-scaling and showcasing them through strong and effective industrial linkage programs. Henceforth, the biosciences products would become a means of socio-economic prosperity of the country.
- Acquiring Scientific Professionalism and Human Resource Development: Generate opportunities, supportive and Practical means to develop and uplift the existing life sciences human resource to high standard, strong professional biosciences academia and research workers for Pakistan.
- Translate Scientific Entrepreneurships: Strong entrepreneurship programs for Biosciences scholars, graduates, academicians and researchers.
- Knowledge dissemination: Organize specialized scientific training workshops, Conferences & Data publication programs.
- Development of indigenous National Data Base storage and dissemination facilities for biosciences generated scientific data.
- Facilitate to develop and organize coordinated academia and research programs across the country & abroad.
- Identify & support high priority areas of applied biosciences research for the development of institutional excellence in the country.
- Developing a database of Life sciences academia researchers across Pakistan
- Define and address ethical standards, biosafety, hygiene, health and professionalism in biosciences.
- Memorandum of Understanding with national and international societies, councils, NGO’s, biosciences research & academia institutions and industry for Socio- economic uplift of Biosciences community.
- Endowment fund for the most deserving members of biosciences community.
- Development of state of the art Life Sciences University campuses in the country.
- Development of PSLS social media, broadcast and telecast channels.
- Showcasing the innovative ideas, inventions and products generated by PSLS member graduates, through individual, collaborative and joint venture programs of the society.
- Arranging specialized hands-on trainings, intern & assistantship programs, through various national and international reputable teaching/ research institutions, NGO’s, societies and the industry.
- Training programs on scientific project write-ups & submissions: Scientific manuscript, theses, book chapters, articles, lab manual development etc.
- Developing & launching of PSLS high standard refereed scientific journal of international repute.
